A college athlete recently asked me to review her new supplement regimen. Her father had sent her a care package which included daily pouches of vitamins that promised to boost female metabolism.
What did I find? Mega-doses of vitamins (some of which can be toxic), a plethora of herbs with possible interactions and side effects, “fat burning” ingredients with no scientific evidence to support their efficacy and to top it off, a NCAA-banned stimulant!
I am so glad this athlete took the time to seek help from an expert. Share this with your athletes and encourange them to do the same!
